Robin with Friends from Training For Warriors

Robin 3v3.jpg

Robin was very generous to ask my son Harry to play in a 3v3 soccer tournament at Reddan in 2005.  The boys didn't know each other that well back then and didn't really have time to practice before the first game, in which they were soundly beaten.  Dejected, the kids reluctantly agreed to have a quick practice before the next game an hour later and I watched Robin patiently go through all the strategy and get their chins back up.  As I recall after that, they didn't lose another game that weekend.  I'll always remember Robin as a wonderful friend, teammate, coach and fellow music lover who along with Beth touched the lives of so many people in a positive way.

2001_Oct_DrBethPotter_with_Rachel_our1stborn.jpg

Here is a photo of Beth holding our 1st born, Rachel from Oct 2001 at Meriter Hospital.  We have 2 daughters, 2nd born 2003 during the time Beth was out of the country to get her daughter Mimi.   We would sometimes exchange Mom notes during the office visits, she made us feel so at ease.  She always admired my knitting and eventually became a knitter so we had more to touch base on when we saw each other as we wanted to know what each other was knitting.    We also have many friends who interestingly also had Dr. Potter as their doctor and/or friend as well.

I feel so very fortunate she was my babies doctor their whole lives and mine and my husbands even longer. I was lucky enough to meet Robin too at a West football game, as both our daughters are the same age.  Beth was always there for us, she also took care of my father during his last years.  She touched our souls and we are grateful she was in our lives and will never forget her.  We cannot express the depth of our condolences in words. Please know we are sending you our love and healing energy and thru the cosmos we will always have Beth, Robin and your family close in our hearts.

So very sorry.

Beth and Robin with Madison Friends

These are shots of Beth with Lynn, Fred, Anne Marie, Vicki, and Amy running, with Lynn and Amy cross country skiing, and of Beth and Robin relaxing with various friends at Lynn Glueck's home in the summer time, and of Robin (dressed as Chairman Mao) and Steve  (dressed as Kim Jong Il) clowning on Halloween.

Beth & Mary Giblin.jpg

I had the honor to be near Beth, sharing her patient panel for 10 years.  Thank you for creating this space for us to share and be close when we are all so very far away.    Here is a picture from International Woman’s day in 2017.   It was very late in the day as our time to breath always was, after almost everyone had left for the day.   This was the time we always wrapped things up, connected, laughed, told stories and were just near each other.  I remember Beth stopped typing a note, looked at me and laughed, she just said “we were women helping women” and asked for someone to take our picture as we both had worn red to honor all women that day.  Beth was always very intentional in finding ways to celebrate the values of strength, unity and kindness. She represents everything that brought us all to clinic each and every day.  I am honored to have stood next to her, feeling stronger knowing she valued me and everyone she met as a friend. My thoughts are fixed on everyone she loves.
